The Department of Aeronautical Engineering has been started at MITE in the year 2011.

we offer undergraduate program in Aeronautical Engineering, including exciting opportunities in research - both accredited by VTU. Our faculty of highly qualified professionals ensures that teaching is of the highest standard. The department is equipped with state of the art laboratories, which includes Design Modelling and Analysis lab, Simulation Lab, Propulsion Lab, Structural Lab, Aerodynamics Lab, Basic Material testing Lab Energy Conversion Lab, Foundry and Forging Lab Metrology and Mechanical Measurements Lab Machine shop. Computer Aided Manufacturing Lab, in a separate Aeronautical Engineering block.

  • To improve the self-confidence of the engineering graduates this in turn makes them to be a creative thinker thereby making them to choose their respective streams for their research and higher educational works
  • To develop the students skill set which is required to upgrade and create a resourceful society which in turn can be used in various technical applications

  • The ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, basic science, engineering fundamentals to solve problems specific to Aeronautical engineering
  • Ability to identify, formulate and analyze practical problems using principles of mathematics, natural science and engineering science
  • Ability to conceptualize, design, develop and evaluate products for public health, safety and environmental considerations
  • Ability to conduct investigations for solving complex Aeronautical engineering problems economically supported by mathematical modeling and modern computational concepts
  • Ability to identify, formulate, interpret and solve Aeronautical engineering problems using modern tools
  • Ability to understand professional and ethical responsibilities and use technology for the benefit of mankind
  • The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in environmental and societal context

Program Specific Outcomes(PSO's)

  • Graduates can prove their ability to design and develop a model, analyze and interrupt the model by NX SIMENS software’s
  • Graduates will be trained to impose their theoretical knowledge over practical domains with the help of Bosch lab techniques
  • Graduates will demonstrate an ability to identify, formulate and solve the aeronautical engineering problems


Student Tech Club AURA

AURA stands for Aeronautical Union for Rising Aviation. It was started in the year 2012. Under AURA various technical events are conducted. Technical Talks on Aero structures, Aerospace Propulsion and Avionics were successfully conducted by AURA team. AURA members have won First place in The AerotriX Super Challenge Flying Competation conducted by Aerotrix in Indian Institute of space Technology in Thiruvantapuram.
