The New Age Innovation Network (NAIN) Scheme of GoK is implemented to create an ecosystem that promotes innovation in educational institutions. Under this scheme, students are encouraged to identify local problems, address them using concepts of frugal innovation and also develop appropriate technology-based solutions and working prototypes. For this, mentors are assigned to students to help them formulate a business model and encourage them to think like entrepreneurs.

IDEATHON 5.1 (2024)
MITE in association with NAIN launches Ideathon Series 5.1, dedicated to nurturing budding innovators by providing crucial funding and support for their groundbreaking ideas. This initiative empowers students to transform their innovations into reality, fostering a vibrant culture of creativity and entrepreneurship.
Students are required to strictly adhere to the following guidelines in submission of the form:
- The proposed Student Projects must be completed within a 6-month timeline from the selection date under the NAIN 2.0 program, should the project be chosen under the NAIN 2.0 program. It is crucial that Student Teams submit projects that are both feasible and manageable within this time period. Proposals should clearly outline significant, tangible milestones that can be achieved by the end of 6 months (with milestones defined for the end of 3rd month (50% completion of proposed project) and the 6th month (100% completion of the proposed project), while aligning with the overall goals of the NAIN 2.0 initiative.
Student Project Proposal Team:
- Each NAIN 2.0 Student Project must be led by a Project Leader. The Project Leader/Primary Applicant must be an on-roll full time student of the college.
- Each Student Project Team must constitute at least 3 members (upto maximum of 5 members).
- Alumni and local entrepreneurs are eligible to join the team but cannot be the primary applicants/project leader.
- The teams must be well-rounded and could consider having members from diverse disciplines and various departments of the college to support collaborative projects.
- All team members must agree on deliverables and milestones as proposed in the project proposal submitted by the team.
- Procurement of raw materials will be allowed to develop a prototype or working model that can demonstrate the technology solution being suggested. The individual project costs must be estimated at the time of application.
- These funds cannot be used for procurement of hardware like computers/laptops, pen- drives, printers, scanner, calculators, cell phones, cameras, UPS etc.
