ENGLISH CREATIVE WRITING

-2 entries per college.
-Time: 90 min.
-Participants have to write a short imaginative story comprising of 1500 words based on a portrait / model/ theme will be revealed on the spot.

KANNADA STORY WRITING

- 2 entries per college.
-Time: 90 min.
-Participants have to write a short imaginative story comprising of 1500 words based on portrait / model/ theme which will be revealed on the spot.

MOCK PRESS

-1 entry per college.
-Each participant will be given a maximum of 5 minutes.
-Participant has to impersonate the personality which will be given to him on the spot.
-Additional rules will be announced on the spot.

WHAT’S THE GOOD WORD

-2 make a team.
-2 entries per college.
-Prelims followed by a final round.
-Stationery is to be brought by the participants.
-participants will be judged through a conventional test of logical speaking skills with some unconventional skills.
- Paper reading is not allowed.

EXTEMPORE

-2 entries per college.
-Individual event.
-Medium of expression is English.
-On the spot two words/phrases will be given.
-Participant need to connect and speak for minimum of 3 minutes.
-Based on the rounds rules may be changed (1st & 2nd round) if participants are more.
-Judging will be on originality, spontaneity and overall impact.

DEBATE (KANNADA)

-2 make a team.
- 2 teams per college.
-Time limit is 4 to 5 minutes.
-Medium of expression is Kannada.
-First round: Topic will be given 15 min before the start of the event. One will speak for and the other against the topic (2 min each).
-Best five teams will be selected for the second round.
-Second round: Topic will be given on the spot and both can add positively (for) or negatively (against) the topic (4 min to each team).
-Participants will be judged through a conventional test of logical speaking skills with some unconventional twists.
-Paper reading is not allowed.

DEBATE (ENGLISH)

-2 make a team.
-2 entries per college.
-Time limit is 4 to 5 minutes.
-Medium of expression is English.

TECH DUMB CHARADES

-3 make a Team.
-2 entries per college.
-Standard Dumb Charades Rules Apply.
-Prelims: 1 Minute Showdown for all the teams.
-Top 6 make it to the Finals.
-Finals: 4 Rounds.
-1st Round: Engineering Terms (Participants have to act out these terms).
-2nd Round: Mirror Round (Two persons from a team act it out to the third person: Again Technical Content).
-3rd Round: Software Round (Participant has to act out the software given to them).
-4th Round: Words round (Every Participant has to act out a Word to the other two).

JAM

-5 entries allowed from a college.
-Individual event.
-Rounds depend on the number of participants.
-No foul language.
-Judges’ decision is final.

AIR CRASH

It is an event, where a situation is given and participant has to convince the judges that his/her solution to the situation is the best.
-2 entries allowed from a college.
-Individual event.
-No foul language.
-Prelims followed by a final round.
-Medium of expression is English only.
-Judging will be on originality, spontaneity and overall impact.
-Each participant will be given a maximum of 2 minutes for round 1 and as per judges’ discretion for round 2.

SPELL B

-2 entries per college.
-It is an individual event.
-It will be a two level event, consisting of a preliminary round and a final round.
-The preliminary round will be a written test having 25-30 words, which are pronounced by the pronouncer while the meaning of the word is displayed on the screen and the participant will write down the pronounced word in the answer sheet.
-The finals will consist of two rounds, both of them direct rounds involving equal number of questions to each participant.
-Oxford dictionary will be used as reference. American spellings will not be considered.
