MITE Team wins ‘Grassroot Scheme Innovation’ Award

MITE proudly announces that the Department of Mechanical Engineering students have won the prestigious “Grassroot Innovation 2024” competition. Their innovative project, the ‘Semi-Automatic Areca Nut Collector’, has secured significant seed funding of ₹4 lakh from the Department of Electronics, IT & BT, Government of Karnataka, and Startup Karnataka.

The Grassroot Innovation 2024 competition, organized by KITS (Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society), marks the first time the Government of Karnataka has hosted a program of this kind. The
competition aims to identify and support innovative solutions that address real-world challenges across various sectors. The Semi-Automatic Areca Nut Collector stood out for its ingenuity and potential impact on the agricultural sector.

Under the expert guidance of Dr. Mohan Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, the 6th-semester Mechanical Engineering students team has made remarkable strides. The team members include:
