MITE has once again demonstrated its excellence by bagging two prestigious ‘Best Project of the Year’ awards at the “ State Level Poster Presentation and Project Exhibition” of 47 th Series Student Project Programme, organized by the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST). The event was held at Sharnbasva University, Kalaburagi, from August 9 to 10, 2024.
Out of the 24 projects of MITE received sponsorship from KSCST, nine advanced to the final round after rigorous mid-term evaluations. Impressively, two of these projects were honored with the ‘Best Project of the Year’ award, a testament to MITE’s continued tradition of excellence in this highly competitive event.
Among the winning teams, the Computer Science & Engineering project group, comprising Sourabh P., Shreyas S. Tantri, Shreyas Shetty B., and guided by Mr. Vinayak Nayak N., earned accolades for their work titled “A Deep Learning Approach to Detect Rheumatoid Arthritis Using X-Ray Images and Biomarkers” under the guidance of Dr. Pradeep B. S.
The Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) Department also stood out, with their project titled “Sewage Pipe Crawling Robot”. The team, consisting of Mr. Ranjan, Mr. Nisar Ahmed, Mr. Abhijith M. Naik, and Mr. Adithya Bhat, was guided by Dr. Sri Krishna Shastri C.
This year, 354 projects were selected for the 47 th series SPP Annual State Level Poster Presentation and Project Exhibition, 142 colleges from across Karnataka participated in the state level exhibition. The projects were evaluated by a distinguished panel of jury members specializing in various technological domains Over the past five years, MITE has consistently secured funding for over 20 projects every year and has accumulated a total of 11 “Best Project” awards.
