MITE Hosts The Third Edition of the Internationally Acclaimed TEDxMITE - Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering

Continuing the legacy, MITE hosted the Third edition of the prestigious TEDx event on December 2, 2023.

The acclaimed TEDxMITE event hosted a diverse array of speakers and performers from various walks of life. TED is a non-profit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. TEDxMITE Illuminate fueled by its tagline – ‘Reflections Empowering Ingenuity’ focused on ideas that would change the world and provide a platform for ideators to speak about their ideas and inspire people of different ages, occupations, and educational levels.

The opening talk was delivered by Mr. N S Parthasarathy, An experienced technology and leadership expert, with over 35 years in the Indian IT Sector, Partha co-founded Mindtree in 1999. In his Talk Mr. Partha dwelled about the skills necessray for the life.

Lt Cdr Bijay Nair, a retired Indian Navy Officer, who had shown exemplary service in Operation Talwar and Operation Vijay, earning him the Vijay star and Vijay medal, spoke about his life experiences in the Indian Navy.

Simran Sharma, a para-athlete who won back-to-back silver medals in the 100m and 200m dash at the Para Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China, spoke about the honour to represent India and the struggle behind ascending the heights to win the glory.

Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, CEO of Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), who has three decades of rich experience in administration, entrepreneurship, and mentoring, spoke about becoming perfect in life inspite of having lot of imperfections.

Major Prajakta Desai, A trailblazer in the Indian Army, and the first woman officer to become an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Observer Pilot, spoke about the adversities in her life, which she conquered and achieved her dreams and served the army.

Arjun Gowda, a Kannada actor and entrepreneur, in his talk shared about the hardship that people faced during the covid pandemic and how he exhibited extraordinary philanthropy by operating as an ambulance driver and assisting with the final rites of the deceased.

Mr. Nishith Parikh, As the co-founder and CEO of Hornback E-mobility, spoke about his journey of designing the world’s first diamond frame folding electric bicycle.

Also, the TEDx MITE event had two performances from music bands. Raaga Fusion, a team that is a blend of Indian classical and contemporary music enthralled the audiences with their unique style of music.

TEDxMITE presented an unveiling of diverse ideas across various fields of society and succeeded at bringing together bright minds on a single platform. The third edition of TEDxMITE was indeed a unique event with diversity in ideas and exhilarating performances.
