About Formula Imperial-HVC:
Formula Imperial is student formula style vehicle design and manufacturing event with the objective to design and fabricate a hybrid vehicle or an electric vehicle or Combustion Vehicle under the event design restrictions so as to give the chance to students demonstrate and prove their creativity and their engineering skills in comparison to teams from other universities or colleges around Asia. Teams will use IC engine and electric motor to run their vehicle which is called hybrid formula vehicle or a vehicle that is charged from an electric source and propelled by electric drive only which is called electric formula vehicle.

Technical Specifications of the Car:
After the virtual round, the vehicle was fabricated at MITE. The car has a KTM 390 engine and a 6KW BLDC motor. It can be driven independently by the motor and engine or the motor and engine can be used together in the hybrid mode. The car also has a few unique features such as a mode shifting mechanism and a quick shifter with a piggy back ECU.

About the Team:
Team Arvans is a team of 42 enthusiastic engineers from various branches of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering lead by Manjunath S and Rohan. The team was dedicated to design and fabricate a formula style student Hybrid racing car. The team which was formed in January 2018 after the tireless effort of over a year has successfully fabricated the vehicle: from design to manufacturing and was guided by Dr. C R Rajashekhar, Head, Dept of Mechanical Engineering. Their hard work paid off as they walked the aisle with the Champions trophy, leaving an indelible trail by also winning awards in all five major categories at the Championship!
