The 42nd series of the Student Project Program of Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) witnessed a team from Department of Mechatronics and Dept. of Mechanical engineering win the coveted “State Best Project of the year -2019” from Karnataka State Council for Science & Technology. 28 innovative projects from MITE had bagged sponsorship through KSCST in 2019
The project “Production of Ink and Paint Products from Internal Combustion Engine Exhaust Soot” by Mohd. Arzoo, Mohd. Zakariya, Rifad Pallikkandi and Aswanth M V was guided by Ms. Rumana Ali, Assistant Professor of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering.
The team from Mechanical Engineering had Bhargava K, Ashrith, Kadabageri Manjunath and Sathwik Poojary which was guided by Prof Rueben O D’Souza won the award for the project “Design and Development of Agricopter Drone”. It is worth noting that the Mechanical Engineering department of MITE has bagged this prestigious award for the second consecutive year.
The student proposals from around the state are reviewed by an expert panel that has Senior Scientists from the renowned Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and other national labs. Selected projects are funded by KSCST. On completion, the projects are again reviewed by an expert panel which selects the projects for Seminar and Exhibition based on the innovation and its contribution to society at large. This year MITE won the best project award from amongst 350 student teams from 109 colleges which competed at the State level exhibition.
