Career Guidance Session on “Navigating Career and Startup Ecosystem in Embedded Systems: Insights and Opportunities”
The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, in association with the Electronics & Communication Students’ Association (ECSA) and the Alumni Committee, organized a Career Guidance Session on 18th August 2025 at 11:00 AM.
The session was delivered by Mr. Vilas Shetty, an alumnus of the 2020 batch and currently Senior Product Engineer at Tantragyaan Solutions, Bengaluru. With four years of professional experience in the embedded industry, he is responsible for product architecture design, firmware development, Linux device driver design, and product testing. The program aimed to provide students with practical insights into the career and startup ecosystem in embedded systems. Mr. Shetty explained the significance of embedded technologies in diverse sectors such as automotive, healthcare, consumer electronics, aerospace, and defence. He also discussed prominent career paths including embedded software engineer, hardware design engineer, and system architect, while stressing the importance of skills like C, C++, knowledge of RTOS, debugging techniques, and use of tools like MATLAB and Keil.
The session was highly interactive and attended by 226 students from the 3rd and 4th year. Students actively engaged in discussions and gained valuable exposure to industry expectations, essential technical skills, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Overall, the event reinforced the importance of embedded systems as a dynamic and rewarding career path for ECE graduates.
