The Department of MCA at Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering organized “SAP HACKFEST 2025 – A National Level Hackathon (State Hub Round)” on 28th June 2025. The event was graced by Mr. Pavan Thanai N. S., Founder-Last Link, who is known for his expertise in leadership development and strategic event management. With a proven track record of organizing over 1,000 high-impact events for Fortune 100 companies and global institutions, Mr. Pavan brought valuable insights and energy to the occasion. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 50 teams comprising 188 students, supported by 8 faculty members, 6 internal juries, and 6 external juries. 

The hackathon provided a platform for students to engage in collaborative problem-solving, enhancing their communication, teamwork, and task management skills. Participants developed and presented solutions to a panel of industry mentors and jurors, gaining critical feedback and confidence in articulating and defending their ideas.

The central theme of the event focused on combating digital fraud through the application of advanced technologies and AI, encouraging participants to adopt ethical and privacy-first design practices. The interaction with professionals from academia and industry offered a rich learning experience, emphasizing the importance of data security, compliance, and social responsibility in technology development.Overall, the hackathon was a transformative experience that fostered innovation, ethical thinking, and practical exposure to real-world challenges. The event concluded on a high note with participants expressing appreciation for the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting.
