Two-Day Faculty Induction and Orientation Program – “Fostering Academic Excellence and Professional Development”

The MITE Teaching Learning Centre (TLC), in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a two-day Faculty Induction and Orientation Program titled “Fostering Academic Excellence and Professional Development” on 8th and 9th August 2025 at 10:00 AM.

The program featured multiple sessions conducted by distinguished resource persons including Mr. Narendra U P (Director – Placements, Training & Industry Relations), Dr. C. R. Rajashekar (Vice Principal & HoD – Mechanical Engineering), Dr. Vinayambika S Bhat (Dean – Quality Assurance), Dr. Pradeep B S (Dean – R&D), Dr. Sathisha (Dean – Examination), Dr. Terence K. Johnson (Associate Dean – Academics), Dr. H M Ramalingam (Convener – MITE-KSCST IPR Cell), and Mr. Swaroop G (K-Tech – District Innovation Associate).

 

The program was designed to provide faculty members with orientation towards institutional policies, academic standards, and professional development practices. 21 faculty members participated actively in the sessions.

The sessions covered a wide range of areas including accreditation standards, quality benchmarks, and institutional policy frameworks, while also providing insights into research opportunities, R&D support, intellectual property rights, and entrepreneurship pathways. Participants gained a deeper understanding of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), effective course design, assessment frameworks, and examination practices. In addition, the program emphasized student career planning, placement support, training, and mentorship to ensure holistic development. The interactive nature of the sessions encouraged active discussions and knowledge sharing among the participants.

The event concluded with reflections from participants, emphasizing the relevance of the program in aligning faculty contributions with the institute’s commitment to academic excellence.
