The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering, organized a one-day hands-on workshop on “Deep Dive into Agentic Development: Hands-On Session with Practical Applications” on 29th August 2026. The workshop was aimed at providing fourth-semester students with practical exposure to the design, development, and deployment of intelligent autonomous agents powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). A total of 58 students actively participated in the workshop, making it an engaging and application-oriented learning experience. ![]()
The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Rakshan B N, Software Engineer-2 at HashedIn by Deloitte. He possesses extensive expertise in Agentic AI development, Generative AI systems, and autonomous task automation. His professional expertise includes designing intelligent agent architectures using Large Language Models, tool integration, memory management, reasoning techniques, prompt engineering, and autonomous decision-making mechanisms. He has practical experience in developing, testing, and deploying AI agents for multi-turn interactions, complex problem-solving, workflow automation, intelligent decision-making, and enterprise-level AI applications. His industry experience enabled him to provide students with valuable insights into both the theoretical foundations and practical implementation of modern agentic AI systems.
The workshop provided participants with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in Agentic AI concepts, Generative AI architectures, and LLM-powered autonomous agents. Students were introduced to agent architecture components, reasoning frameworks, planning mechanisms, and decision-making processes. The practical sessions covered LLM fundamentals, advanced prompting techniques, tool calling mechanisms, API integration, and context management strategies, enabling participants to understand the development of AI agents capable of handling complex, multi-step tasks. Students also explored multi-agent systems, real-world problem-solving applications, business automation tasks, emerging industry applications, and market opportunities in agentic AI. Through interactive hands-on activities, participants gained experience in building functional AI agents and implementing reasoning, planning, and autonomous task-execution frameworks.
The event was coordinated by Mr. Shreejith K B, Senior Assistant Professor, and Ms. Amrutha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, MITE. The workshop successfully enhanced students’ technical competence, practical implementation skills, and innovation mindset while providing valuable exposure to industry-relevant technologies and best practices in agent design. Overall, the program served as an effective platform for developing industry readiness and encouraging students to explore one of the rapidly evolving areas of Artificial Intelligence.
