Workshop on “Embedded Systems Design Roadmap: Process and Prototyping for Innovative Solutions”

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, in association with, the Alumni Committee, organized a workshop on “Embedded System Design Roadmap: Process and Prototyping for Innovative Solutions”, from 19th to 21st of April 2025. Mr. Vilas Shetty, Senior Product Engineer, Tantragyaan Solutions, Bengaluru and an alumnus of 2020 batch, was the resource person for the workshop. Mr. Vilas has a professional experience of 4 years in the embedded industry. He is currently working for the design and development of embedded and IoT systems in terms of product architecture design, firmware development, Linux device driver design and product testing.

Around 50 undergraduate students from second year, participated in the hands-on workshop that offered participants a comprehensive introduction to embedded development using the Raspberry Pi. The workshop also covered essential serial communication supported by live demonstrations of data transfer between the Raspberry Pi and external modules. Students explored debugging techniques and optimization strategies to address common issues in embedded applications.

The session further provided real-world insights into embedded product development through case studies and concluded with a discussion on innovative project ideas. Students gained both, the theoretical foundation and practical skills to confidently work on embedded systems.
