Professional Development Program on NEP, NIRF by Dr. K Balaveera Reddy at MITE
Teachers are the Guiding Force for the Future Nation builders’ said Dr. K Balaveera Reddy, at the Professional Development Program on National Education Policy 2020 and NIRF Ranking at Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering, (MITE) Moodabidri on 24th August 2022. An eminent Educationist and Administrator, Dr. K Balaveera Redddy is the Former Vice Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. Also, Dr. Balaveera Reddy is the former Chairperson, Board of Governors, NITK Surathkal and Former Director, Dept of Technical Education, Govt of Karnataka. The One Day Faculty Enablement Program was conducted for the Faculty to enrich and guide them on being prepared for the National Educatio Policy 2020.
NIRF (National Institute Ranking Framework) was rolled out to introduce a well-defined ranking system for higher education institutions, making it an important criteria for evaluating the Institue Growth and performance. In his presentation, Dr. K Balaveera Reddy provided detailed insight on the importance of each of the Five Criteria of NIRF and suggested the way in which the Institute can set a Roadmap toward becoming one of the highest-rated institutes in the country.
The National Education Policy (NEP) provides an important opportunity to move Indian education from “sorting and selection” to “human development,” enabling every student to develop to their maximum potential. The NEP aims at holistic Education, and transforming India into a vibrant knowledge hub. NEP focuses on Multi-disciplinary, emphasises on regional language, celebrate the idea of being an Indian, globalising Indian thoughts,. NEP also aims at holistic development of all Students. Dr. Balaveera Reddy congratulated the Management for building the Institute with a futturistic vision, and emphasized MITE to be prepared well in advance towards becoming a Research intensive Higher Education Instituet and aim at becoming model public university – called “MERU” (Multidisciplinary Education and Research University
Mr. Rajesh Chowta, Chairman, MITE presided over the Program. In his presidential address, Mr. Rajesh Chowta, thanked Dr. K Balaveera Reddy for his noble gesture of guiding the Institution. He also set his vision of leading MITE as one of the highest ranked Institute in the country offering Global Quality education. Dr. M S Ganesha Prasad, Principal proposed the vote of thanks.
