Startup Summit at MITE Inspires Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The entrepreneurial spirit was at its peak as the Startup Summit took place at Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE), showcasing the creativity and innovation of young minds. The event, held on 3rd June was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Shyamaraj K S, Business Head of ITMS at Manipal Technologies Ltd, aimed to foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem and provide a platform Young Minds to pitch their innovative ideas and secure funding.
Mr. Shyamaraj K S, in his inaugural address, praised the innovation ecosystem at MITE and commended the institution for nurturing and empowering young minds. He highlighted the need to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship in the ever-evolving business landscape, emphasizing the role of institutes like MITE in shaping future leaders.
The Guest of Honour Mr. Chetan Srinivasa, Director of Product Management at VISA, Bengaluru, captivated the audience with his insights into the potential of young minds in developing extraordinary technical wonders. He specifically mentioned the revolution brought about by UPI (Unified Payments Interface) and how it has transformed the digital payments landscape. Mr. Srinivasa inspired the students with his stories of innovation and urged them to become catalysts of change in the industry.
Mr. Narendra, Director(Placements, Training & Industry Relations) welcomed the esteemed guests and spoke about the thriving innovation ecosystem at MITE. He highlighted the accomplishments of MITE’s startups and entrepreneurs over the years, showcasing the institution’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent. Dr. Prashanth C M, Principal of MITE, presided over the program, emphasizing the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in today’s world. He applauded the students’ efforts and encouraged them to pursue their dreams with passion and determination.
The highlight of the summit was the pitch presentations by the 35 participating student teams, who exhibited their innovative ideas across various domains. The ideas encompassed a wide range of sectors, from technology-driven solutions to sustainable initiatives, showcasing the students’ diverse talents and entrepreneurial spirit. The Ideathon that was previously conducted had witnessed 95 ideas submitted by the students, after two rounds of evaluation had 35 ideas for the final pitch. The selected ideas in the startup summit will receive a funding of upto 3 Lakhs along with office space and Mentor support. The Startup Summit at MITE Moodabidri was a remarkable event that showcased the entrepreneurial potential and innovative ideas of young minds. It served as a catalyst for nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs and fostering a culture of innovation in the region.
