International Mathematics Day – Creative Minds: Modeling Mathematical Concepts The department of Mathematics and Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) organized a competition, “Creative Minds: Modeling Mathematical Concepts”, on the 14th of March 2025 to mark International Mathematics Day – 2025. The competition aimed to promote creative thinking and practical application of mathematical concepts through model-based presentations.  Around 150 students participated in the competition that provided students with an opportunity to apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems, enhancing their problem-solving abilities and analytical reasoning. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Ganesh T, Quality Manager, V & G Industrial Testing Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Ganesh has over 25 years of experience in non-destructive testing (NDT), destructive testing, and quality inspection. A Workshop on “Energy Audit for Energy Conservation” was organized by the department of Mechanical Engineering on 29th March, 2025. Mr. Yuvraj K B and Mr. Arun Krishnan, faculty members of the department of Mechanical Engineering, MITE, were the resource persons for the workshop. Mr. Yuvraj has 13 years while Mr. Arun has 12 years of teaching experience. Around 30 students participated in the workshop that successfully enhanced their technical skills in conducting energy audits. Participants gained practical knowledge on identifying and mitigating energy inefficiencies. The survey and awareness campaign promoted community engagement and encouraged locals to adopt sustainable energy practices.
